Elbow Pain That Won't Slow You Down

Your elbow aches with every grip. It flares after deadlifts or a long day of yard work. It's tender on the outside — or the inside — and it hasn't fully settled in weeks. And every clinic you've tried so far has told you the same thing: rest it, brace it, avoid the aggravating activity.

That's not a plan. That's a pause button — and you don't have to hit it.

At True North Physical Therapy, we don't just look at your elbow. We look at the whole chain — wrist, forearm, shoulder, and grip mechanics — to find out why your elbow is doing the complaining in the first place. Then we build a plan that lets you keep lifting, working, and gripping while it heals.

Why Your Elbow Pain Keeps Coming Back

A lot of times, elbow pain gets labeled “tennis elbow” or “golfer's elbow” and the plan stops at a brace and rest. But those names just describe where the pain is — not why the tendon is overloaded in the first place.

What we find is that most previous plans stopped at one of two places:
● The forearm and grip strength were never actually loaded and rebuilt — rest calmed the tendon down, but it broke down again the moment real load returned
● Nobody looked upstream at shoulder mechanics or how the whole arm moves under load — so the elbow kept absorbing force it wasn't built to handle alone

That's the missing link. And it's exactly what we build differently.

Common Reasons Patients Come to Us With Elbow Pain
● Lateral epicondylalgia (“tennis elbow”) — pain on the outside of the elbow with gripping or lifting
● Medial epicondylalgia (“golfer's elbow”) — pain on the inside of the elbow, often with throwing, lifting, or repetitive wrist flexion
● Overuse pain from deadlifts, pull-ups, rows, or heavy carries
● Repetitive strain from manual labor, yard work, or repetitive work tasks
● Nagging elbow pain in throwers, racquet-sport athletes, and climbers
● Post-injury elbows that need a real return-to-lifting or return-to-sport plan

No diagnosis required to start. If you're not sure what's going on, that's exactly what the assessment is for.

What Happens at Your First Visit

You'll get a full-chain movement assessment — not just an elbow poke-and-prod. We'll look at your grip strength, forearm and wrist mechanics, shoulder positioning, and how you're actually loading the elbow during your lifts or work tasks. From there, we build a progressive loading plan for the tendon itself, plus a modified way to keep training or working while it rebuilds capacity.

No referral needed. No insurance runaround. Just a clear plan before you leave.
